Author, chef, and sometimes comedien, Rocky Fino is back with his wise and witty counsel in this cookbook for guys needing a scoring assist. When all else fails guys, don’t throw in the towel. Put on an apron! People often ask if this book contains recipes for “aphrodisiac” food. Cooking is the aphrodisiac. As men — single or married — we are challenged with enamoring our significant others. There is no better chance to show her your affection than in the kitchen.
Whether you’ve planned an intimate dinner date for two or are having friends over for a party, your cooking skills will make you that much more attractive in her eyes — and hopefully that attraction will lead to the bedroom later.
“This book will help you stroll your way into enticing food conversations and deliver stimulating recipes that you and your partner will enjoy.”

The Old Man has cooked elegant meals for family and friends since I was a kid. He was the one who first told me, “Enough money can buy most pleasures in life, but creating them adds a new dimension. In fact, it’s never a waste of time to cook for just one or two people.” He’d say, “Why waste an opportunity? You’ve only got so many meals in your life, and they should not all taste the same.”
He also admitted that since I didn’t get Paul Newman looks from him, he needed to give me something else to help with the ladies.
When I was younger, we’d often work together in the kitchen preparing more than one dinner at a time, simply to experiment with flavors. We’ve been the designated cooks on many family trips through the years; and when we weren’t cooking, we’d dine at elegant restaurants so we could compare our creations with those of the pros.
Over time I learned what my father meant when he said, “There’s a hell of a lot more to cooking than just heat.” Cooking was magic, and I came to love it, whether it was with family, friends or a woman I wanted to impress.
The way I see it, a way to a man’s heart is through his zipper. The way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.
My old man never told me how to get laid, but he did train me how to cook. And after many years of defeat suffered while trying to go toe-to-toe in the ring of the pick-up scene, I finally realized the value of that skill.
If you’ve gained the reputation of a porn star (size does matter, after all) and/or have the animal magnetism to lure women with a smile and a wink, I envy you.
But the rest of us need a more strategic approach. A woman’s expectations of men’s abilities are even lower than you’d think. Your attempt alone will impress her more than buying her dinner, and if it’s good, you’re bound to move up in the rankings.
The first time I cooked for a woman, I was young, the meal was marginal, and she was too naïve to know any better.
I got lucky!
I never questioned the power of food again.
I’ve gotten older, the women are getting wiser, and their expectations just keep rising. Fortunately, I’ve continued to work on my game. For those who haven’t, or have no idea what game I’m talking about – here’s the book to help you.
